Easier Now vs Akiflow
Akiflow gathers everything. Easier Now decides what is next.
Akiflow pulls tasks in from your other tools and asks you to time-block them into your calendar. Easier Now does the placing for you and shows one task at a time.
Side by side
Both start from the same complaint: work is scattered across too many places. What happens after the work is gathered is where they part.
| Capability | Easier Now | Akiflow |
|---|---|---|
| What you see when you open it | One task, four buttons | An inbox and a calendar to plan into |
| Pulling tasks in from other tools | CSV import, Google Calendar | Many app integrations |
| Who decides when a task happens | The app, from your estimates and hours | You, by dragging it into a slot |
| Keyboard-driven command bar | ||
| Estimates learn from your logged minutes | ||
| Overdue work handled one item at a time | Catch-up: one overdue card at a time | Rescheduled by hand |
| Time needed before you can start | None. The first task is on screen | A planning pass through the inbox |
| Assign tasks to other people | On the Team plan | Built for individuals |
Where Akiflow is the better fit
If your work genuinely lives in a dozen tools and you want all of it in one inbox, Akiflow's integration list is deeper than ours. It is also built for people who like being fast on a keyboard, and the command bar rewards that. If you enjoy planning your day and want full manual control of where each block lands, it gives you that control.
Where Easier Now is the better fit
The planning pass is the thing that stops happening on a bad week. Easier Now does not ask for a planning pass. Tasks carry an estimate, the app fits them into the hours between your meetings, and you get one on screen. If you skip a fortnight there is no backlog of unplanned items waiting, because nothing needed planning in the first place.
The daily planning pass
Akiflow’s model asks for a few minutes at the start of each day: triage the inbox, drag things into slots. People who keep that habit get a great deal from Akiflow.
The habit is also the failure point. Miss the habit for a week and you come back to an inbox that needs processing before the tool is useful again, which is the moment most people stop opening the app.
Easier Now has no equivalent step. Tasks are scheduled from their estimates against the hours your calendar leaves free, so no queue of unplanned work ever builds up.
What you lose
Fewer integrations, and no command bar. If you move through software mostly by keyboard, Akiflow will feel faster to drive than this does.
Questions about switching
I have abandoned every productivity app. Why would Easier Now be different?
Easier Now has nothing to maintain. There is no board to tidy, no weekly setup and no daily planning session. Miss a fortnight and you are handed the backlog one item at a time, with three buttons under each: skip it, do it today, or mark it done.
What happens when a client blows up my afternoon?
Press Optimise schedule and Easier Now works the rest of the day out again. Your strict commitments stay where they are, your flexible work is refitted into the hours that are left, and anything that no longer fits today is shown to you so you can move it or drop it.
